A routine cleaning is more than a cleaning, it's preventive maintenance. Our divers are trained to inspect your hull with each cleaning and report any issues that you might not be aware of. Common findings are damage to the hull or running gear, blocked thru-holes due to debris in the water, zincs that have lost there ability to effectively protect underwater metals.
The age or type of bottom paint, vessel length, and aquatic vegetation growth are all factors that affect pricing. Vegetational growth depends on water temperature, salinity, the density of local underwater flora and fauna, the substrate (what your hull is made of) and how often you use your boat. The location of where your boat is in a Marina or Private Dock can cause unusual growth due to high current, proximity to a leaky septic tank or fertilizer runoff caused by a heavy rain.
A professional hull diver will assure you that no cleaning is ever the same.

Do barnacles grow faster in certain waterways?
Yes, certain waterways can promote more growth. Waterways with fast moving current provide more nutrients to barnacles while areas with more exposure to the sun lead to more algae growth on waterline! If you move your boat to a new Marina you may notice changes in growth rate and/or types of growth.
What are Zincs & how long do they last
What is a Zinc?
Zincs protect your running from galvanic corrosion. Galvanic corrosion occurs from different Alloys being in an electrolyte such as seawater. Zincs are a type of Anode, other types of Anodes include Aluminum and Magnesium.
How long do Zincs last?
Zincs all corrode at different rates based on their mass. Current and water salinity can affect their rate of corrosion. Adding more Zincs will not make them last longer; it simply improves their effectiveness by adding more surface area. Once a Zinc has less than 40% section remaining it is time to replace it.
Which type of Anode should you be using on your boat?
Zinc and Aluminum Anodes are used in saltwater while Magnesium Anodes are best suited for freshwater.

When should i replace my Anodes/zincs?
Zincs should be replaced when there is 40% section remaining. This is why it is important to have us check the amount of section remaining with each monthly cleaning.

HOW DOES PROP SPEED PERFORM
Prop speed is recommended to be applied on all metals underwater for boats the have a frequent operating schedule as it is self cleaning each time you run the boat, which will save you money on monthly cleaning costs.
HOW DOES HULL MAX PERFORM
We do not currently recommend this new found type of "foul release" coating due to it being ineffective and the frequent cleanings that are required with it.
WHAT BRAND OF BOTTOM PAINT IS BEST
With the aggressive marine environment of Florida it is recommended that "Pettit Trinidad XSR" or "Pettit Trinidad HD" be used for boats with hard antifouling paints. For ablative bottoms we reccomend "Pettit Odyssey Triton" or "Pettit Odyssey HD".
How often should i haul out and have Boats bottom REpainted
A boat should be hauled out every two years for new Antifouling Paint if docked in an area with minimal current. Areas with swift current require a boat to be hauled out every year for new Antifouling Paint.
